If you are talking about the boot splash screen. During the boot process, that is part of grub:
There are two options depending on what you want:

1. Turn off the splash screen
2. Change the splash screen image:
/boot/grub/grub.cfg
3. Another is in:
/etc/default/grub.d/theme-lambda.cfg

If you change the grub files make sure you run:
sudo update-grub

If you are talking about the desktop, you can change that in the desktop tool. ![Ubuntu-Desktop-Settings](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex019/uploads/deeptalk/original/1X/6c195dd1409e972a704f558b8d7c49df5d8d8a67.png)

I hope that helps for what you are looking for.
